- Camera movement, angle and shot distance will be analysed in my storyboard, to show that I understand how I need to set up my shots.
- I will move my performers in my shots to make the video how I want it.
- The close up predominates - the size of the screen, to create a sense of intimacy for the viewer using the notion of looking, emphasises half of the commodity on sale (not just the song but the artist and the voice).
My camera-work ideas for my video:
- To achieve shots that are fast montage cuts, but the songs isn't particularly fast so the shots will be in time with the song.
- I would quite like to use a spinning camera shot, where the camera spins round to capture the whole of the location of a 360 degree view of a section of the location.
- An aerial shot or a birds eye shot of one or more of the band. This will be quite difficult to do because I will need to think of ways to secure the camera safely above the band. The ceiling is quite high so this may not be an easy shot to achieve.
- A shot of the band at a low angle to make them look intimidating or a shot of the band at a high angle to make them look vulnerable.
- Hand held shot, where the singer is holding the camera and looking into it (direct address) and singing the lyrics. I will use lip syncing in this shot.
- A shot where half of the singers face is in focus and the background of the band playing is out of focused. To get this shot, I will use manual focus on the camera and select what I want to be in focus.
- Close ups/extreme close ups on the bands face's and instrument's.
- Using lots of different angles of the subject to ensure multiple viewing.
- To make some of my shots smooth I will use a chair one wheels.
Editing:
- Fast cut montage - images which are impossible to grasp on the first viewing of the video, this makes ensures multiple viewing.
- Slow pace and gentle transitions to establish the mood of the song/video.
- The visuals must match the music - on the beat and lyrics.
- Split screens
My editing ideas for my video:
- Colourisation - black and white, sepia, adding tints or making the film look vintage/old.
- Enhancing colours of the video - contrast, exposure, brightness and RGB, not to do this this too much or it could ruin the effect or become unrealistic.
- Flashing white transitions - to make the shots quickly blend together in a white flash.
- Green screen - I will try and do this if I have the correct equipment. I would need to use a green screen, which is placed behind the subject used and recorded. Then when I go into the editing stage, I can replace the green screen of the shot to another completely different shot, it will look like the subject is somewhere which it isn't.
- Rotating shots - in the editing stage where I can make shots rotate around and move to different places on the screen. This could be achieved by using the picture in picture effect on iMovie.
